Galena hop plant is a US hop variety developed by the department of agriculture in Idaho in 1978 and descended from Brewer’s Gold. It is one of the most widely used bittering hop varieties in the US and is also an excellent dual-use hop.
This is a high alpha hop producing compact, medium sized cones.
Galena has a fruity flavour of citrus and blackcurrant and is purportedly used in Corona Extra.
Galena will grow to approx. 15-20 feet once mature.
