A perennial, the hop plant dies back after the first frost and this is the time it is best to plant the root sett.
We normally have hop plants available from December through to April.
Growing your hop

The hop (Humulus Lupulus) is a perennial plant which has a large root system, capable of producing many growing stems, called “bines”. The bines in turn carry many off-shoots which hold the flowers. When the plant is established the bines can be as large as 20 feet, but they usually only flower in the top 10 feet.
The hop is dioecious, meaning the male and female flower components are borne on separate plants. It is the female plants that bear the flowers and these are the plants we sell (The absence of the male plants will not affect the production of flowers on the female)
The hop plant takes at least two growing seasons to establish, the first year being devoted to the development of the root system.
