Historically, hops are widely recognised for their use in beer but more recently have been highly sought after for their beautiful decorative qualities. At Essentially Hops we have over 50 years of growing experience and over 20 years of selling decorative hop garlands by mail order and we pride ourselves on this special product. We now grow our hops exclusively for decoration, ensuring the quality is the best we can achieve. Hops can be frustrating to handle, but look fabulous on beams, above cupboards and dressers and over fireplaces and windows. They are extremely popular at wedding venues. If you have not handled hops before please telephone 01227 830666 for advice. Normally hop garlands are approximately 8-10 feet long and 8-14 inches wide, however this year was a particularly difficult growing year and we have sold out of normal sized garlands already. The garlands we are now selling online are smaller than you would normally expect if you have had dried hops before. The mini garlands are beautiful, but not as thick as normal. If you are replacing your hops, you might like to ring for advice.
